  7. TERRITORIES 2120 is a strategy-oriented, space-conquest simulation that pits
  8. players against one another.  Players compete with one another in
  9. randomly-generated galaxies in an attempt to control all of the solar systems
  10. within the galaxy.  Players accumulate points when they conquer a galaxy
  11. completely.
  12.  
  13. In designing this product, one of our preliminary goals was to make the game
  14. playable with as few commands as possible.  In fact, the entire game can be
  15. controlled through three commands.  Game-play is simple, straight-forward, and
  16. extremely easy to learn.  Addiction is a sure-thing.

  19. Installation
  20.  
  21. Setting up the TERRITORIES software on your system is very easy.  Follow these
  22. step-by-step instructions to complete the installation.
  23.  
  24. 1.  Create a subdirectory within your TBBS directory.  This directory will hold
  25.     the software and databases required to run this package.  For the purposes
  26.     of this section, we assume installation to the following path:

  28.     C:\TBBS\T2120

  30. 2.  Extract the contents of the T2120V10.ZIP file into the newly created
  31.     subdirectory.

  33.     C:\TBBS\T2120\> pkunzip t2120v10.zip

  35. 3.  After a fresh extraction, you need to prepare the databases for a new game.
  36.     Do so by executing the TRRAFORM.EXE program.  Append a -CR-I flag onto the
  37.     command line before executing.

  39.     C:\TBBS\T2120\> trraform -cr-i
  40.  
  41. 4.  For proper game-play, the TRRAFORM.EXE file needs to be executed daily. Add
  42.     the following lines to your BBS' external event batchfile.

  44.     rem Perform daily maintenance on TERRITORIES 2120.
  45.     rem LegendTASK.
  46.     cd \tbbs\t2120
  47.     trraform (-i)
  48.  
  49.     Some Syops may want the Terraform software to regenerate the index files
  50.     each night.  The -I flag instructs Terraform to rebuild all indexes.

  52. 5.  Modify your menu .SDL file and add the following lines:

  69. Limitations of the demonstration version
  70.  
  71. From a player's perspective, TERRITORIES 2120 is limit-free!  They can
  72. experience every aspect of the game whether you have registered the software or
  73. not.  The only limitation to this version is that the settings in the
  74. configuration file are ignored by the demonstration version.  The default
  75. settings are five turns a day with thirty fighters to begin with.

  98. Jeffrey D. Hoffman, rpgSoft, nor the authorized dealers of TERRITORIES shall

  100. liability, loss, or damage caused or alleged to be caused by this software.
  101. This included, but is not limited to, any interruption of service, loss of
  102. business or anticipatory profits, or consequential damage resulting from the
  103. use of this software.

  108. Persons running TERRITORIES are expected to honor their license agreement.
  109. This software is copyrighted, and licensed to the purchaser for your individual
  110. and exclusive use on a single CPU at a time.  Any reproduction for use by other
  111. persons is a violation of our copyright and your license agreement. Carefully
  112. read the following terms and conditions.  Use of this product constitutes your
  113. acceptance of the terms and conditions, and your agreement to abide by them.

  115. THIS IS AN END-USER LICENSE.  You, the original purchaser, are granted this
  116. license for the use of TERRITORIES software under the terms stated in this
  117. agreement.  You may not assign or transfer the software or this license to any
  118. person without the express written consent of Jeffrey D. Hoffman.  Any attempt
  119. to sublicense, assign, or transfer any of the rights, duties, or obligations
  120. hereunder is void.

  122. THE TERRITORIES SOFTWARE IS COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. Once you have paid the
  123. required single copy license fee, you may use the software as long as you like
  124. provided you do not violate the copyright or any of the following conditions.

  126. SINGLE CPU LICENSE.  You may use the software on any computer for which it is
  127. designed as long as it is not in use on more than one computer at the same
  128. time.  You must pay for additional licenses if you want to use this software on
  129. more than one computer at the same time.

  131. BACKUP COPIES.  You may make as many backup copies of the software as you
  132. require to avoid loss. You are responsible for all backup copies you make, and
  133. must assure that they do not result in any use of the software which would
  134. conflict with the provisions of paragraph 2 above.

  136. SOFTWARE MODIFICATION.  You may not make any changes or modifications to the
  137. Licensed software not expressly authorized by Jeffrey D. Hoffman.  This
  138. includes but is not limited to disassembly and reverse engineering the
  139. software.

  141. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.  This Software is Commercial Computer Software under the
  142. Federal Government Acquisition Regulations and agency supplements to them.  The
  143. Software is provided to the Federal Government and its agencies only under the
  144. Restricted Rights Provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulations applicable
  145. to commercial computer software developed at private expense and not in the
  146. public domain.

  148. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY.  In no case shall the Liability of Jeffrey D. Hoffman
  149. exceed the license fees paid for the right to use this software or One Hundred
  150. Dollars ($100.00), whichever is greater.
